Mrs. Lois Pierce Bembry, age 78, of Macclenny, Florida died Sunday, Jan. 11, at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in Glen St. Mary, Florida and resided there for many years and then started a military life with her husband and then moved to Palatka, Florida and for the past 10 years has resided in Macclenny, Fla. She was a former bus driver for the Baker County School Board and owned Lois’s Beauty Den working as a cosmetologist for many years. She enjoyed gardening, decorating and keeping a clean home for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Estelle and Gladys Hodges Pierce, one son, Loren E. Bembry, Jr., three sisters, Thelma Wilkinson, Mary Stokes and Edith Bembry, two brothers, Estelle “Pete” Pierce, Jr. and Tom Pierce. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Loren Eugene Bembry, Sr. of Macclenny, Fla.: Two daughters, Charlotte (John) Hobbs of Glen St. Mary, Florida and Susan (Curtis) Watson of San Mateo, Florida: Six grandchildren, Bryan (Lily) Hobbs, Misti Griffis, Geri Hobbs, Jason (Catie) Johns, Justin Johns and Lauren (Nick) Hicks: Thirteen great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, Jan. 13, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Dr. Edsel Bone, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Macclenny, Florida, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Macclenny, Florida. Visitation with the family will be from 1 to 2 P.M.
