Mrs. Lois Walker Ricks, age 90, of Jacksonville, Florida died Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospice, Jacksonville, Florida following a long illness. She was born in Olustee, Florida and had resided in Jacksonville, Florida for the past 70 years. She worked as a billing clerk with Great Southern Tucking and as a secretary with the Duval County School System for many years. She was a member of the Norwood Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla. and a graduate of the Taylor High School Class of 1943. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Frederick Ricks, her parents, Benjamin W. and Elsie Carman Harris Walker and a granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Ricks. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia (Rodney) Higginbotham of Jacksonville, Florida: Two sons, Freddie (Charlene) Ricks of Baldwin, Florida and Timothy (Willette) Ricks of Jacksonville, Florida: One brother, Ben (Betty) Walker of Keystone Heights, Florida: Nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Ricks will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, Feb. 6, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Drum, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Baldwin, Fla., officiating. Interment will be in North Prong Cemetery, Baker County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10:30 to 11 A.M. Saturday (before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida
