Loma Pierce

Mrs. Loma Pierce, age 100 of Macclenny, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born on September 12, 1913 in Macclenny where she was a lifelong resident.  Mrs. Pierce was the third of seven children to the late Charlie and Creecy Crews Garrett.  Loma touched many lives in her 100 years and was the cornerstone of her family.  She loved family gatherings where we enjoyed her unique sense of humor and the stories of her life experiences.  She had a strong faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church where she was known to most as Granny. Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her three children, Sonny Crawford, Peggy Carter and Glenda Sharman.

She is survived by her sister, Clara Crews of Macclenny and many grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pierce will be conducted on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Crawford officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Baker County, Florida.  Visitation with the family will be from 1:30-3:00 PM, prior to the service at the church of Sunday.
