Mrs. Lucille Bennett Crews, 77, of Moniac, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville following a brief illness. She was born in Taylor, Florida to the late Alex Bennett and Ida Rewis Bennett. Mrs. Crews made her home and farm, the “Big Bend Ranch”, in Moniac with her late husband for over 60 years. She enjoyed traveling when able, cooking, working at the family farm and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Crews was of the Baptist faith and member of Moniac Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Mr. Oliver Donald Crews, on July 5th of this year, one brother, Dorsey Bennett and her sister, Voncille Hand.

Survivors include her son, Marvin Oliver Crews, Tampa; her daughter, Alice Faye Morris, Moniac; two brothers, Gerald Fred Bennett and his wife Inez and Ray Bennett and his wife Mary Lee all of Gainesville; two grandchildren, Oliver Donald Crews, II and Jason Michael Morris; and two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Crews and Emily Morris.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Moniac Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tim Colvin officiating. Interment will follow at Moniac Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of GUERRY Funeral Home, Macclenny.
