Mrs. Mable Scofield Wolford, age 91, of Lake City, Florida died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014. Mable, a native of Lake City, Florida , was preceded in death by her parents, Walter F. and Lonnie (Owens) Scofield, her husband, Kenneth Wolford, and sisters Benita Markham and Delita Nye. She is survived by her sister, Elsie Holliday of Lake City, children Lucy Warlick (Tom), Craig Wolford (Dee), and Dr. Kellie Roberts, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mable was loved by all and she loved her family. A 1941 Columbia High School graduate, Mable was an avid quilter and seamstress, Mable won multiple blue ribbons at the Columbia County Fair for her handiwork, baking, and food canning. One of her quilt designs, “Florida Forest” was chosen to represent Columbia County and is part of Florida’s state quilt which was displayed in the statehouse. A lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Mable was active in Women of the Church’s “Martha Circle.” Her community involvement and leadership included the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Society, the Lake City Garden Club and the Lake City Homemakers’ Club. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. James Montgomery officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Columbia County, Fla. Following the service, the family will receive friends and family in the fellowship hall of the church. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME 2659 S. W.
