Madeliene Dorcus Duce

Mrs. Madeliene Dorcas Duce, age 88, of Lake City, Florida died Friday, Nov. 5, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. Mrs. Duce was born in Charlotte Harbor, Florida and resided in Valdosta, Georgia before moving to Lake City, Florida in 1966. She worked as a registered nurse with Lake Shore Hospital, Lake City, Florida for over 33 years until her retirement. She attended Hopeful  Baptist Church and enjoyed her flowers, cooking, baking and taking care of her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in  death by her husband, Byron Earl Duce, Sr., her grandsons, Jonathan Anderson and Joshua Anderson and her son-in-law, Eric Anderson. She is survived by her children, Trisha Anderson and Byron Earl “Buddy” Duce, Jr. (Nikki) both of Lake City, Florida and Susan Ward of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Hank Ward, Brody Ward, Sasha (Dustin) Shreiner, Clay Cutford and Angelena Anderson; great-grandchildren, Rex Ward, Gracie Shreiner, Dyaln Schreiner and Kami Schreiner; also survived by a loving and faithful family friend, Sarah Maxwell.  A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mrs.Duce will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, Nov. 9, in Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Cunningham officiating. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
