Mrs. Mamie F. Combs, age 100, of Glen St. Mary, Fl. passed away, September 22 in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, Fl following a short illness. Mrs. Combs was a lifelong resident of Baker County and was a member of the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church, Macclenny, Fl. She owned Combs’ Grocery for twenty-five years and worked at Northeast Florida State Hospital for ten years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, crocheting and cooking. Mrs. Combs is preceded in death by her late husband, Henry Lester Combs, her parents, John and Bertha Mae Crawford, two brothers, Virgil Crawford and Dan Crawford, and three sisters, Sarah Dugger, Geneva Kearce, and Berniece Jones. She is survived by two sons, Robert Wayne Combs (Gail) and Daniel Lester Combs (Mary Lou) both of Macclenny, Fl.: One daughter Shirley Rowe (Billy) of Macclenny, Fl.: eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, twelve great- great grandchildren and numerus nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Combs will be held on Friday, September 25, at 11 A.M. in the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church, Macclenny, Fl. with Elder David Crawford, Pastor, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (One hour before services). Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery, Taylor Fl.
