Martha W. Davis

Mrs.  Martha Wheeler Davis, age 82, of Glen St. Mary, Fla. passed away peacefully on May 7, 2013 surrounded by her family. Martha was born on January 24, 1931 to Sherman and Lois Wheeler in Lake City, Fla.. She worked for Gulf Life Insurance Company  for 15 years and retired from Northeast Florida State Hospital, Macclenny, Fla. after 25 years of service.  She was a member of the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church.  She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ora Davis of Glen St. Mary, Fla.:  Her daughter, Karen (Joey) Shook of Glen St. Mary, Fla.: Her son, Glenn Davis: Two granddaughters, Amanda (Matt) Moore and Maggie Shook both of Jacksonville, Fla.: Two great-grandchildren, Emma and Elijah Moore.  Martha loved her friends and her family, but above all, her Lord. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, May  9,  in the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Crawford, Pastor, officiating and assisted by Elder Gordon Smith, Pastor of the Westside Primitive Baptist  Church. Interment will be in South Prong Cemetery, Sanderson, Fla. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday (One hour before services) at her church.
