Mary R. Combs

Mrs. Mary R. Combs, age 71 of Sanderson, FL passed away Tuesday, March 23rd in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, FL following an extended illness. Mrs. Combs was born in Jacksonville, FL and lived the majority of her life as a resident of Baker County, FL. She worked as a teacher’s aid for over 15 years in the Baker County School System until her retirement. Mrs. Combs enjoyed genealogy and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Tommie Lou Reid Rix, sister, Linda Rix and brother, Herbert Rix. Mrs. Combs is survived by her loving husband, Mr. Louis Combs: one son, Shawn Combs of Taylor, FL: two daughters, Becky Cason (Chad) of Jacksonville, FL and Jacqueline Combs of St. Petersburg, FL: one brother, Artie Rix of Starke, FL. Three grandchildren, Sean Fogarty (Candace Clack), Gabrielle Fogarty, Parker Cason, and one great grandchild, Rowynn Fogarty, also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Combs will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, March 26th in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Chaplain Thomas “Tom” Tyer officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (one hour before services). Interment will immediately follow the funeral services in Taylor Cemetery.
