Mary Alligood Floyd

Mrs. Mary Alligood Floyd, age 96, of Fort White, Florida passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, in Suwannee Valley Care Center Haven Hospice, Lake City, Florida . Mrs. Floyd was born January 10, 1926 in Bland, Florida and had resided in Fort White, Florida for 76 years. She was a homemaker, a member of the Fort White Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her friends and family. She was one of ten children born to Archie and Minnie Vaughn Alligood. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Edward Carl Floyd in 2007 and seven siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Ronnie) Ragans of Madison, Florida and Iris (Cliff) Rowan of Lake City, Florida; her grandchildren, Lauren (Tom) McCullough of Waycross, Georgia, Lisa (Matt) Robinson of Columbus, Georgia, Marcus (Randi) Rowan of Land O’ Lakes, Florida and Matthew (Nina) Rowan of Lake City, Florida; six great-grandchildren, Katie and Nora Hurst, Kove McCullough, Kai and Mia Rowan and Callum Rowan; one brother, Marvin (Bud) Alligood; one sister, Peggy Malphurs; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Floyd will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, Aug. 27, in the Fort White Baptist Church, Fort White, Florida with Rev. Milton Smith, officiating and assisted by Dr. Fritz Fountain. Interment will be in Fort White Cemetery, Fort White, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M.
