Mary “Ella” Richards, age 93, passed away Friday, June 12 in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida. Mrs. Richards was born to the late T.D. and Thelcia Mae Hancock Richards in Lake City, Florida. Ella was a lifelong resident of Lake City and was also a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she loved to fellowship with her friends. Mrs. Richards was proud to be known as a “workaholic” as she tended to her yard and garden. She was also known by her family as an excellent cook. Ella was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Richards, her son, John Wayne Richards and daughter, Mary Ann Courtney. Mrs. Richards is survived by two sons, Fred “Buck” (Patricia) Richards and Ray (Cathy) Richards, both of Lake City, Florida; one daughter, Beverly (Paul) McKeithen of Lake City, Florida; and one sister, Maxine Kirkland of Jacksonville, Florida. Eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandc hildren also survive. A remembrance service to honor the life of Mrs. Richards will be held at 11 A.M., Monday, June 15 in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Pastor Lowell Osteen officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (One hour before services) at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
