Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Sullivan, age 88, of Starke, Florida passed Sunday, Dec. 7th, at Haven Hospice, Orange Park Florida following a brief illness. Mary was born in Jasper, Florida and had resided in Starke, Florida for the past four years. She was a former resident of Lake City, Florida for more than 40 years before moving to Jacksonville, Florida and then to Orange Park, Florida. She worked as a nurse with Dr. L.J. Arnold, Jr. in Lake City, Florida for many years and with Riverside Clinic, Jacksonville, Florida until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lake City, Florida and a past Worthy Matron of the Minnie Lee Lodge Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed Florida Gator football and Atlanta Braves baseball. She was preceded in death by her parents J.C. and Mattie Bryan Griffin and her late husband, Harold Lee “Woody” Sullivan, her granddaughter, Sarah Gallagher and her sister, Connie McKinzie. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary S.(Buzz) Johnson of Starke, Florida and Sheila S. (Ed) Baker of Williamsburg, VA., her sister, Mrs. Polly Hammond of Jacksonville, Florida, three grandchildren, Kelli (Robert) Richardson, Bryan Baker and Michael (Jackie) Gallagher, and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Richardson and Amanda Richardson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, Dec.13th, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Lee McKinzie of Baton Rouge, La., officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lake City, Florida. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M., Saturday (One hour before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
