Mrs. Mary Lizzie Watts, age 97, of Lake City, Florida died Tuesday, Feb. 24, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. She was born in Quitman, Georgia and resided in Thomasville, Ga. before moving to Lake City, Florida 55 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of the Welcome Congregational Holiness Church. She enjoyed cooking, making pound cakes, buttermilk biscuits and doing yard work. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy F. Watts and her parents, Charles Virgil and Nellie G. Lucas. She is survived by three daughters, Joanne Goodson and Liz (Rev. David) Kirkman both of Lake City, Florida and Winnell Payne of Baton Rouge, La.: One son, Randall B. Watts of Lake City, Florida: One sister, Thelma White of Thomasville, Ga.: Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, Feb. 27, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. David Kirkman officiating and assisted by Rev. Wayne Church and Rev. Lance Crews. Private interment will be in Williams Cemetery, Lake City, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 1 to 2 P.M.
