Mrs. Maurcine Witt Cobb, age 91, of Lake City, Florida died Tuesday, Jan. 27, in the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. She was born in the Ellisville community of Columbia county where she resided for many years before moving to Tampa, Florida and residing for 20 years and then moving back to Lake City in 1965. She was a homemaker and member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lake City, Fla. She was a graduate of the Class of 1939 at Fort White High School and attended Florida Southern College, Lakeland, Fla. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers, participated as a Four H Club member and was a very giving person dedicated to her church and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace J. and Winnie Leola Hodges Witt, members of a pioneer family for Columbia county. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Leland J. “Duke” Cobb, Jr. of Lake City, Fla.: One daughter, Beverly Sue Cobb of Lake City, Fla.: One son, L.J. (Eileen) Cobb, III of Lake City, Florida: Three grandchildren, Jennifer Paoli, Jeffrey Cobb and Christopher Cobb: One great-granddaughter, Chloe Paoli. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, Jan. 30, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Janis Kinley of Jacksonville, Fla. officiating and assisted by Deacon Patrick Lee. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday, Jan. 29, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S. W. Main Blvd., U.S. 41 South, Lake City, Florida.
