Maurice Eugene Combs

Mr. Maurice Eugene Combs, age 82, of Glen St. Mary, Florida died Friday, Oct. 2, in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, Florida following a long illness. He was born in Sanderson, Florida and lived in Macclenny, Fla. for many years before moving to Glen St. Mary, Florida in 1996. He worked as a field supervisor with Blair Nursery, Macclenny, Florida for 47 years until his retirement in 2000. He was the son of the late Traverse R. and Rosa Lee Alford Combs. He was a member of the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church, Sanderson, Florida and enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his garden. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Geraldine Combs of Glen St. Mary, Fla.: Five children, Marcus Eugene Combs, Brenda Combs Buonviri, Laura (John) Adams and Darrell Timothy (Dawn) Combs all of Jacksonville, Florida and Michael Eugene (Rita) Combs of Glen St. Mary, Florida: Two sisters, Inet Salona and Goldie Davis both of Jacksonville, Fla.: Eleven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Combs will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, Oct. 7, in the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Crews officiating and assisted by Rev. Tim Alford, Pastor of Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church. Interment will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Sanderson, Florida.
