Mr. Melvin Norman, age 75, of Glen St. Mary, Fl. went to be with the Lord October 13, following an extended illness. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Mr. Norman was born in Macclenny, Fl. and lived in Baldwin, Fl. before returning to Baker County 40 years ago. He enjoyed fishing, farming, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlois and Thelma Wright Norman, his grandson, Blake Norman, and three brothers, Auzzie, Eric and Wibur Norman. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joy A. Norman: One daughter, Tammy (Raymond) Conner of Glen St. Mary, Fl.: Two sons, Michael Norman of Glen St. Mary and Scott (Melissa) Norman of Sanderson, Fl. : 8 siblings, Inez (Fred) Bennett of Gainesville, Fl., Riley (Theresa) Norman of Middleburg, Fl., Bernice (Bobby) Crawford of Glen St. Mary, Fl., Jane Weatherington of Taylor, Fl., Jerry (Ski) Norman of Taylor, Fl., Darrell (Cheryl) Norman of Glen St. Mary, Fl., Reggie Norman of Middleburg, Fl., Kelly (April) Norman of Baldwin, Fl.: 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Norman will be held Friday, October 16 at 11 A.M. in the Pine Level Church, Baxter, Fl. with Bobby Ray Crawford officiating and assisted by Rev. Fred Raulerson, Pastor. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, October 15 in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. Interment will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Sanderson, Fl.
