Michael Shay Mobley

Michael Shay Mobley, 70 years old, passed away, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida following a lengthy illness. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 14, 1953 to his parents, Cecil Fulton Mobley and Lois Hurst Mobley. Until his illness in 2009, he loved fishing and hunting with his sons and friends in the River Bend Hunting Club. He continued to enjoy yearly vacations in Welaka, Florida, where he loved fishing on the St. Johns River with his family. Mike was employed at the Reception and Medical Center in Lake Butler, Florida, until his retirement in 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Cecil. Mike married his loving and caring wife of 45 years, Robin Lyons Mobley on March 25. 1978. Along with his wife, he is survived by his two sons, John (Regan) Mobley, and Joshua (Mackenzie) Mobley; and two precious grandsons, Jake and Casey. Funeral services to honor the life of Mike will be held at Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny on Saturday, October 7. Visitation with family and friends will be held at 10:00 AM and services will follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor James Conner officiating. Graveside services will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery on CR 23D.
