Michael A. "Mook" Bennett, Sr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael A. Bennett, Sr., age 67, of Macclenny, Florida. Mr. Bennett passed away on October 25, 2024 following a heart attack. Michael was born on October 7, 1957 in Macclenny, Florida to Dorsey and Joyce Davis Bennett. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Michael worked for over 20 years in the construction industry as a respected foreman, where his leadership and expertise were admired by all who worked with him. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and a stead fast friend.

Michael had a remarkable sense of humor, always bringing laughter and joy to those around him. His friends and family appreciated his kindness, strength and unwavering guidance when called upon.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Dorsey Bennett. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Bennett: former wife of 23 years, Elizabeth Garey: four sons, Michael Bennett, Jr., Shane Bennett, David Bennett and Shad Bennett: daughter, Angel Miller. Michael was a loving father who cared deeply for his children.

He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren, Cale, Abigail, Zane, Alexander, Sophia, Justin, Cassie, Maegen as well as ten great-grandchildren. Michael also leaves behind sister, Debbie Sparkman: five brothers, Scott, Drew, Stanley, Mark, and Roger. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A public viewing will be held in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. The arrangements are under the care of Guerry Funeral Home, 420 E Macclenny, FL, 32063, (904) 259-2211.
