Mildred Finley

Mrs. Mildred A. Finley, age 90, of Macclenny, Florida died Friday, April 2, in the Macclenny Nursing & Rehab Center, Macclenny, Florida following a long illness. Mrs. Finley was born in Lake Butler, Florida and had resided in Macclenny, Florida for over 75 years. She and her husband, the late D.W. “Dub” Finley, Jr. owned the Blair & Finley Grocery, Macclenny, Florida for over 27 years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Macclenny, Florida. She loved her church, family and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband, her parents, John Carver and Bertie Mae NesSmith Blair, a daughter-in-law, Donna Finley and a grandson, Bryce Finley. She is survived by her daughter, Denise (Ronnie) Harvey of Macclenny, Florida: Two sons, Dennis (Debbie) Finley of Macclenny, Florida and John Finley of Fernandina Beach, Florida: Eight grandchildren, Brad (Stacie) Harvey, Brandon (Jennifer) Finley, Jennifer (Chance) Franks, J.J. (Morgan) Finley, Blane (Logan) Finley, Blair (Ty) Newman, Brady Finley and Gwen (Gene) McDaniel: 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Finley will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, April 7, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Ellison, Pastor, officiating and assisted by Mr. Cherrill Mobley and Rev. Larry Finley. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday (one hour before services) at the church.
