Mr. Monroe Alvin Gray, age 65, of Pomona Park, Florida died Thursday, April 12, in the Shands at University of Florida Hospital,Gainesville, Fla. following a brief illness. He was a native of Jacksonville, Fla. and resided in Baldwin, Fla. before moving to Pomona Park, Fla. 20 years ago. He worked as a boilermaker in the construction industry for 35 years until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his father Joe Gray. He is survived by his wife Vivian L. Gray of Pomona Park, Fla.: Five children Felicity Crawford of Jacksonville, Fla., Anthony M. (Jennifer) Gray of Macclenny, Fla., Joseph (Sandra) Gary of Glen St. Mary, Fla., Jeremy Hars and Joshua D. Hars both of Ocala, Fla.: His mother Edith Davis (John) Young of Lake City, Fla.: One sister Martha Gray of Lake City, Fla.: Two brothers Joe Gray II of Providence, Fla. and Tim (Gwen) Gray of Sanderson, Fla.: Fourteen grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, April 16, in the Cedar Creek Church, Sanderson, Fla. with Rev. Carl Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Sanderson, Fla. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday (one hour before services) at the church. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, Lake City, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.
