Mrs. Norma Jean Carson, age 84, of Lake City, Florida died Wednesday, Aug. 12, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following a long illness. She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio and lived in Battle Creek , Michigan before moving to Lake City, Fla. in 1969. She worked as a registered nurse with the V.A. Medical Center and Lake Shore Hospital in Lake City, Northeast Florida State Hospital , Macclenny, Fla. and the Reception Medical Center of the Florida Department of Correctional Center, Lake Butler, Florida for over 40 years of service. She was a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, was a graduate of Chillicothe High School Class of 1949 and White Coss School of Nursing class of 1952 . She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Jane Schwartz Cochran and two brothers, Richard Cochran and Donny Cochran. She is survived by two daughters, Kelly Kay Carson of Delray Beach, Fla. and Cara (Michael) Abbate of Safety Harbor, Fla.: Three sons, Kevin “Kit” Carson and Michael “Tim” Carson both of Lake City, Fla. and Sean Carson of Bradenton, Fla.: Two sisters, Joan Stout of Tallahassee, Fla. and Sallie Serrott of Chillicothe , Ohio: One brother, Charles James (Bobbi) Cochran of Baton Rouge, La.: Six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
