Pauline Faye Hattenstein

December 29, 1928 — February 11, 2022

Friday February 11th, Pauline Faye (Cunningham) Hattenstein went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At the age of 93, she lived a full and wonderful life. A Godly woman born in Wagoner, a small town in Eastern Oklahoma, she grew up on the family homestead. Raised by her parents Robert Harmon Cunningham and Ada Mae (Wheeler) Cunningham, she was one of five children. After completing high school, she moved to Enid OK attending and graduating from Enid Business College. While in Enid she met Charles on July 29th, 1951, her husband of 66 years, who was stationed at Vance AFB. She worked in Enid as a typist and assistant bookkeeper for Baker Manufacturing Company, a wholesale house for plumbing supplies and windmills.  Together they had 3 children; Carol, Patricia, and James.  After moving many times with Charles’ Civil Service job, the family settled in Lake City FL in 1971.  Pauline worked part time for Pickens Realty as a secretary. Pauline and Charles were active in the local United States Power Squadron for many years earning certificates in Basic Boating and Advanced Piloting. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading and collecting antiques especially miniature glass slippers. As a faithful member of First Christian Church of Lake City she actively participated in Prayer Partners which conducted many worthwhile community projects.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Charles; sisters Juanita Mae Sly of Wagoner OK, Ruth Carolyn Cleveland of Claremore OK and Annetta Jane Robinson of Owasso OK.  She is survived by her brother David Harmon Cunningham (Martha) of Shawnee KS; daughters Carol Ann Poole (Richard) of Lake City FL, Patricia Faye Thompson (Edward) of Jacksonville FL and son James David Hattenstein of Lake City FL; four grandchildren, Lori Ann Poole of Lake City FL, Melanie Kristin Poole of Lake City FL, Elizabeth Faye Gallo (Josh) of Warner Robbins GA, and Phillip Douglas Thompson of Orlando FL. Also, four great grandchildren; Airman First Class, Jared Michael Cornett (Sarai) of Langley VA, Dalton Landon Poole of Lake City FL, Henry Joseph Gallo of Warner Robbins GA and Emilia Faye Gallo of Warner Robbins GA.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday February 15th at the graveside at Forest Lawn Cemetery from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM conducted by Douglas Allen, pastor of First Christian Church of Lake City.

Arrangements are being managed by Guerry Funeral Home, Lake City FL. The family requests in lieu of flowers please make donations to First Christian Church of Lake City FL designated for the children’s Backpack Program.
