Quentin Lee Griffis

April 8, 1981 — February 25, 2016

Mr. Quentin Lee Griffis, age 34, of Sanderson, Florida died  Wednesday, Feb. 24, from injuries received in an automobile accident near Taylor, Florida.  He was the first-born son of Lynwood and Latryll Griffis and resided in Macclenny, Florida most of his life.  He was employed as a framing carpenter with Rock Custom  Homes, Macclenny, Florida for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church, Sanderson, Florida and a graduate of Baker County High School Class of 1999.  He enjoyed hunting for Indian arrowheads, watching his son play baseball and spending time with his children. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Willard Thrift and his niece, Launa Bree Monds.  He is survived by his wife,  Krystin S. Griffis  of Sanderson, Fla.:   his son,  Laytin Lee  Griffis of Sanderson, Florida: his daughter, Tayla Marie Griffis:   his parents, Lynwood and Latryll Griffis of Macclenny, Florida:  his maternal grandmother,  Mary Sue Thrift of Macclenny, Florida:  Three siblings, Jared “Rudy” Griffis of Macclenny, Florida, Brooke (Shannon) Monds   of Glen St. Mary, Florida and Elick Griffis of Orange Park, Florida:  Mother and father-in-law,  Carolyn and Elmus Davis of Sanderson, Florida: one sister-in-law, Sandi Davis and two brother-in-laws,  Adam (Kelli) Davis and Ethan Davis all of Sanderson, Florida. Numerous uncles, aunts,, nieces and nephews also survive.  A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Griffis will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday,  March 1, in the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Alford, Pastor, officiating.  Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Baker County, Florida.  Visitation and gathering with the family will be from  5 to 8 P.M.  Monday, Feb. 29,  at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida. www.guerryfuneralhome.net
