Randall Leon Mobley

Mr. Randall Leon Mobley, Sr., age 63, of Macclenny, Florida died Sunday, January 9, 2011 in the Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida following an extended illness. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida and had resided in Macclenny before starting his career with the Florida Department of Corrections. He retired as an assistant warden at the New River Correctional Facility in Raiford, Florida in 2000 after 32 years of service, then moved back to Macclenny, Florida. He was the son of the late Willie Leon "Bill" Mobley and Ann Lois Davis Mobley. He was a graduate of Florida State university with a Degree in Criminology, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Deacon with the Macedonia Independent Methodist Church of Baker County. Mr. Mobley was a devote Christian and loved his God and his church.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda A. Mobley, Macclenny; Two daughters, Tina M. (James) Dobbs and Brenda R. (Mike) Davis both of Macclenny; Two sons, Randall Leon (Becky) Mobley, Jr., Lake Butler and Jonathan Ashley (Denise) Mobley, Sr., Macclenny; Two sisters, Joan Pearl Smith, Macclenny and Karen Mobley, Glen St. Mary; Five grandhildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Mobley will be conducted on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Macedonia Independent Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Allen, Pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating and assisted by Rev. Bobby Crews, Pastor of Macedonia Independent Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery, Baker County, Florida. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8:00 pm Thursday evening, January 27, 2011 at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Hunter, David Hunter, Steve Stafford, Darryll Mobley, Clay Thomas and Brian Thomas. Arrangements are under the direction of GUERRY Funeral Home.
