Mr. Rickie Wayne Thomas, age 61, of Jacksonville, Florida died Saturday, March 28, at his residence following a sudden illness. He was a native of Alma, Georgia and resided in Equality, Alabama before moving to Jacksonville, Florida three years ago. He worked as a welder and iron worker in the steel construction industry for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and enjoying the simple life. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Otis and Ruth L. Thomas. He is survived by his son, Travis W. (Becky) Thomas of Macclenny, Florida: His daughter, Shelly Gayle (Mike) Wright of Jacksonville, Florida: Three grandchildren, Corey Thomas, Marcus Crowley and Makea Crowley: Five siblings, Patsy Howard of Jacksonville, Fla., Ronnie Joe Thomas, Randy Thomas and Marsha Neese all of Bryceville, Fla. and Donnie Thomas of Brooker, Florida. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, April 3, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Mr. Larry Boyles , Youth minister with the Words of Light Church, Maxville, Florida, officiating.
