Robert Rondal Barton

Mr. Robert Rondal Barton, age 62, of Macclenny, Fla. died Wednesday, May 25, in Lake City, Fla. following an extended illness. He was born and resided in Macclenny, Fla. all of his life. He was a former correctional officer with the Raiford State Prison until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert R. Barton, Jr. and his father T.J. Barton. He was a member of the Olustee Baptist Church, an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Masonic Lodge #122 of Sanderson, Fla., a member of the Macclenny Moose Lodge, the American Legion and the V.F.W.

He is survived by his mother, Annie M. Barton of Macclenny, Fla.; Four sisters, Sue (Mark) Keiser and Diane Barton both of Lake City, Fla., Marlene (Harold) Strickland of Orange Park, Fla. and Carolyn (Delbert) Combs of Macclenny, Fla.; Two grandchildren, Robert R. Barton, III and Brianna Barton.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM Saturday, May 28, in Macedonia Cemetery, Baker County, Fla. with Rev. Tim Cheshire, Pastor of Mt. Zion N.C. Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 P.M. Saturday (one hour before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Fla.
