Mr. Robert Allen Chesser, Jr., age 86, of Starke, Florida died Sunday, July 5, in the Shands at University of Florida Hospital, Gainesville, Florida following a short illness. Mr. Chesser was born in Folkston, Georgia and had resided in Starke, Florida since 1959. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with the Army Board State of Florida at Camp Blanding, Fla. for over 35 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Folkston, Ga., an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and enjoyed fishing in the numerous lakes located on Camp Blanding. He was the son of the late Robert Allen and Cornelia Justice Chesser. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Viola N. Chesser of Starke, Fla.: One daughter, Cindy C. (Arnold) Ballew of Keystone Heights, Fla.: Two sons, Randy A. Chesser of Starke, Fla. and Robert W. (Judie) Chesser of Lawtey, Fla.: Two sisters, Linda Mae Burnsed of Glen St. Mary, Fla. and Maggie (Pat) Patterson of Macclenny, Fla.: Three brothers, James W. (Lillian) Chesser of St. George, Ga., Grant (Barbara Ann) Chesser of Hilliard, Fla. and Jack (Vernell) Chesser of Moniac, Ga.: Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. A remembrance service to honor the life of Mr. Chesser will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, July 11, in the New Life Baptist Church, St. George, Ga. with Rev. James Conner, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. George Cemetery, St. George, Ga. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Friday, July 10, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.
