Robert Joseph Martin

Mr. Robert Joseph Martin, age 79, of Macclenny, Fla. died Friday, April 12, at his home following an extended illness.  He was born in Newark, New Jersey and lived in Jacksonville, Fla. before moving to Macclenny, Fla, in 1988.  He served 23 years in the U.S. Navy retiring with the rank of E-7.  He then worked as a quality assurance specialist with the U.S. Civil Service for 18 years until his retirement.  He was a Navy vetean of the Vietnam War and loved his family and his dogs.  He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Carolyn E. Martin who passed away May 9, 2012.  He is survived by his sons, Wendell (Susie) Martin of Glen St. Mary, Fla., William (Tara) Martin of Macclenny, Fla. and Robert (Jessie) Martin of Jacksonville, Fla.:  Five grandchildren, Joshua, Sara Beth, Christopher, Dustin and Kierra and two great-grandsons, Jacob Bundy and Parker Sydney Martin.  Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 A.M., Tuesday, April 16, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Cox, Assistant Pastor of The Taylor Church officiating.  Interment will be at 1 P.M., Tuesday in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Jacksonville, Fla.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Monday, April 15, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Fla.  Contacy # for the family is 904-226-2426.
