Mr. Robert Alfred “Al” Sanders, age 63, of Lake City, Florida died Friday, Jan. 15, in the Shands at University of Florida Hospital, Gainesville, Florida following an extended illness. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida and lived in Lake City most of his life. He was the owner of Sanders Trucking Service, Lake City, Florida and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, fishing, hunting and was an avid Florida State Seminole fan. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the N.R.A. and a Vietnam army veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bo” Sanders and a son, Jon Eric Sanders. He is survived by his son, Robert Samuel Sanders of Palm Gardens, Florida: his mother, Peggy W. Sanders of Lake City, Florida: his sister, Krista S. (J. Nicholas) Brasel of Tallahassee, Florida: Aunts, Mary K. Malans and Fances (Clynn) Lyons: Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a beloved companion, Karen Anderson. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Sanders will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, Jan. 19, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral home, Lake City, Florida. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery, Lake City, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Monday, Jan. 18, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
