Roger Dewitt Harris

Roger Dewitt Harris of Glen St. Mary died December 28, 2010 at his home at the age of 63. Mr. Harris was born in Raiford to Tommy and Bertie Mae Harris on April 20, 1947. He was a Veitnam veteran and a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Harris was precededed in death by his wife of 42 years, Judy Denise Harris and his parents. He retired from Mercedes Benz of North America and enjoyed fishing, farming and spending time with family.
Survivors include his daughter, Michele (Michael) Powell; son Michael (Brenda)Harris, both of Glen; brothers Henry Wyman (Rachel) Harris and George Wayne (Carol-Jean) Harris, both of Raiford; grandchildren Brooklyn (Jermiah) Davis, Brianna Davis, Kelsey Harris, Garrett Layton, Ashley Rhoden and Christian Powell; two great-grandchildren, all also of Glen.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening December 30 from 6-8:00 PM at Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny. The funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 am at the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church in Macclenny with Elder David Crawford officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
