Ronald Hamilton Allen

Ronald Hamilton Allen, 87, of Lulu, Florida, passed from this life on September 30, 2026, at Haven Hospice Care in Lake City, Florida.

Born January 4, 1939, in Jacksonville, Florida, Ronald was the youngest of four sons of Ethan and Gladys Allen. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Allison, Wendell, and Norvelle Allen.

Ronald served two years in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in November 1963. In 1967 he graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Forestry and married Georgene Thomas. From 1967 to 1974 he worked for several timber companies in Alabama and Georgia. In 1974 he and his family moved to Lulu, Florida, where he started his own timber consulting business.

An avid outdoorsman, Ronald found great joy in fishing and hunting and gladly shared that love of the outdoors with his children and grandchildren.

Ronald and Georgene shared 49 happy years together until her passing in 2017. During the last ten years of her life, as she lived with dementia, Ronald lovingly cared for Georgene in their home. Georgene was instrumental in bringing Ronald to Christ before they were married, and both remained faithful members of the Lake City Church of Christ until their passing.

Ronald is survived by his three children: Gladys (Lee) Wright, Sarah (David) Pahman, and Wayne (Samantha) Allen; and by his five grandchildren: Hannah Foster, Leah (Spencer) Helms, Lila Allen, Emily Allen, and Abby Allen.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Guerry Forbes Funeral Home on 2659 SW Main Blvd. in Lake City, FL. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 3, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lake City Church of Christ. Interment will follow the service at Allen-Gillen Cemetery, Lulu, Florida.
