Rose Pate Thompson-Monte

Mrs. Rose Pate Thompson-Monte, age 68, of Jacksonville, Fla. died Thursday, Nov. 8 in the St. Vincent's Medical Center South, Jacksonville, Fla. following an extended illness. She was born in Asheville, N.C. and had resided in Jacksonville, Fla. for the past 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Cora Lee Pate Edwards Creason. She was a homemaker and a very independent lady. She is survived by her husband, John S. Monte, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.: Five daughters, Mary (Donald) Noles and Sharon Canady both of Jacksonville, Fla., Sherry Lynn (Victor) Fitchie of Moniac, Ga., Robin Mann of Jacksonville, Fla., Shanna (Alan) Secrest of Taylor, Fla.: One son, Jerry Banks of Bakersville, N.C.: One step-son, John S. Monte, III of Glen St. Mary, Fla.: Four sisters, Della Tucker of Hendersonville, N.C., Norma Jean Raines of Swananowa, N.C., Wilma Lee Eady of Belton, S.C. and Lucille Canaday of Callahan, Fla.: Two brothers, Ronnie Fox of Walnut, N.C. and Michael Edwards of Henderson, N.C.: Seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren also survive. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M., Sunday, Nov 11, in the North Prong Cemetery, Baker County, Fla. with Rev. Micky Mixon of Jacksonville, Fla. officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Saturday, Nov. 10, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, Macclenny, Florida.
