Sheila Sullivan

May 13, 1941 — March 14, 2021

Sheila “Sully” Jackson Sullivan born May 13, 1941 in Shellman, GA. passed away March 14, 2021 from cancer, at St Vincent’s hospital, surrounded by her family.

After graduating high school, she joined the Navy and relocated to Corpus Christi TX., where she met her husband, Joseph T Sullivan.  They travelled the world while raising their family and in 1974 they chose to plant their roots, Baker County.

For 26 years Sheila worked as a bus driver for the Baker County School Board and became deeply engaged with her community.  This allowed her to meet thousands of children, their parents, and members of the community, many of whom still reach out and talk about her being their driver. Her love of life, laughter and her infectious spirit was felt by all who met her.  She never met a stranger and once she met you, you were now part of her family. Sheila enjoyed playing cards, humming a tune, and taking friends to their doctor appointments. Being a Booster for the Wildcats, she was legendary for showing up to events in the team’s colors along with clappers, noise makers and, more cowbells. Sheila was a follower of Christ and always reflected her servant’s heart. The message on her phone was, “Hello my friends” and all her calls ended with “love ya, love ya, love ya, bye” , and every card and letter wished you Godspeed.

She is predeceased by her husband Joseph T. Sullivan and leaves behind her brother Bruce Jackson, her sister Ada Evermon, her children, Sheila Lusis, Teri (Wayne) Pampaloni, Shirley (Michael) Miller, Dennis Sullivan, Lori (Nam) Nguyen and Angela (Eddie) Sanders. Her 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren will miss her fun loving spirit and the essence of her presence. On Saturday, March 20th, we will celebrate her life and Godspeed. Her celebration of life will be at Christian Fellowship Temple, 251 W. Ohio Ave, Macclenny, Florida lead by Pastor David Thomas.  Viewing from 12-1 with services at 1. We thank the Baker County community for the joy you brought to her life. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for donations to be made to the Baker County Council on Aging, so that they may continue to support the people of Baker County.
