Shirely Barbara Tyre

Mrs. Shirley Barbara Tyre, age 81, of Lake City, Florida died Friday, March 16, in the Lake City Medical Center, Lake City, Florida following a brief illness.  She had resided in Lake City, Florida all of her life and worked as a bookkeeper with Edsel’s Automotive and Machine Shop for 25 years and most recently as an associate with Wal-Mart of Lake City for over ten years. She was of the Baptist faith and  loved to  read books and enjoyed her flowers at her home. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Sue Tyre Parrish, a brother, Carlton “Buddy” Harris and her parents, Staten David and Leo Sistrunk Harris. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edsel R. Tyre of Lake City, Florida: Her son,  Mark (Peggie) Tyre of Lake City, Florida: Two  sisters, Hazel Lester of Lake City, Florida and Julia (Edward) Brown of Phoenix, Arizona:  One brother, James (Linda) Harris of Lake City, Florida: Four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter also survive.  A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Tyre will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, March 20, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. George Kerce, Associate pastor of Hopeful Baptist Church, officiating and assisted by Mr. James Harris. Interment will be in Corinth Cemetery, Columbia County, Florida.  Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, March 19, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
