Mr. Shirley Odell Richerson, age 77, of Macclenny, Florida died Wednesday, Aug. 30, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Andalusia, Alabama and had resided in Macclenny, Florida and Baker County since 1955. He worked for the Glen St. Mary Nursery and most recently with the Florida Department of Transportation, Jacksonville, Florida as a trades helper for over 32 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Paxon Revival Center, Jacksonville, Florida and enjoyed painting, gardening and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hastie and Irene Lois Lambert Richerson, four brothers, Edward, Eugene, Thomas and Roger, two sisters, Elsie Hunt and Helen Browder. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice Richerson of Macclenny, Florida: One daughter, Mary Richerson of Macclenny, Florida: One son, Romey Richerson of Macclenny, Florida: Two sisters, Dorothy Rosier of Fort White, Florida and Barbara Blanton of Lake City, Florida: One brother, Johnny Richerson of Lake City, Florida: Two grandchildren, Travis Richerson and Rebecca Amerson: One great-granddaughter, Tammy Alice Amerson: Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Richerson will be held at 2 P. M. Friday, Sept. 2, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Dobbs, Pastor of the Paxon Revival Center, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Baker County, Florida. Visititation and gathering with the family will be from 12 to 2 P.M.
