Stephen George Feko was born on March 15, 1931, to Michael L. Feko and Mary A.Tomak in Ulysses, Pennsylvania.
Stephen grew up in Thompson, Ohio. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served with honors on the USS William T. Powell. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict.
After his military service, he was accepted to General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan. He began his 35-year engineering career with General Motors as a Design Engineer and helped build the Fisher Body Trim Plant in Tecumseh, Michigan in the early 1960s.
Stephen had a great love of family and would spend his vacation time visiting extended family. He was a man with many interests including dancing with his sweetheart and whistling to Country music. He was a member of several bowling and golf leagues. In 1998, he shot a Hole in One at the Wentworth Golf Club in Tarpon Springs, Florida. In his retirement years, he continued using his engineering skills as a consultant in the construction of the General Motors Plant in Istanbul, Turkey. He also built a vacation Log home in Coker Creek, Tennessee. He then moved to Lake City, Florida.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carol; children, Stephen Gary (Vickie), Neil, Linda, Amy, Russell (Kelly Anne), Fran (Billy), Marilyn (Danny) and Terry; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many loving brothers, sisters and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife Betty, his daughter Deborah, his parents Michael L. & Mary A., his sisters Elizabeth and Teresa and brothers John and James.
Stephen’s remains have been cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life ceremony announced at a future date.
We find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through his family with the many lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and his detailed and vivid memories that we will cherish forever.
