Steven Charles Young
February 23, 1949 — February 11, 2014
Mr. Steven Charles Young, 64 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Gainesville following an extended illness. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Charles Young and June Britton Young. Mr. Young was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp having served during Vietnam. Prior to moving to Lake City in 2003, Mr. Young lived in Lake Elsinore, California. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with his pups (his girls) and grandchildren and was a member of the Lake City Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Robin Young, Lake City; his children, Angela King, Lake City, Melissa Dabbs (Jeffery), Lake City and Clyde King (Misty), Cleveland, TN; four brothers, Terry, Mickey, Jeff and Mark Young all of California; four sisters, Cindy, Melissa and Jennifer all of California and Sharon of Arizona; seven grandchildren, Katie, Aaron, Alyssa, Hayden, Andrew, Ethan and Christopher also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Young will be conducted on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Lake City Church of God with Pastor Carroll Lee and Pastor Dennis McMillian officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2:00, one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Interment will follow on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida with military honors.
