Terry Crews

William Terry Crews, Macclenny, FL, was born on March 27, 1938 in Jacksonville, FL and ended his Journey in this life, in the company of his immediate family, January 4, 2016 at Kindred  Hospital North Florida, Green Cove Springs, FL. His parents William Clarence and Rubye Thrift Crews both preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Trilby Greene Crews and children William Terry (Susan) Crews, Jr. of Newberry, FL, Patricia Crews Orender of Macclenny and Timothy Lee Crews of Lake City.  Five grandchildren, who were the light of his life, and all celebrating New Years Day with him are: William Andrew Crews and Matthew David Crews of Newberry; Kaden Leymaster Orender, Aaron Crews Orender and Emily Morgan Orender of Macclenny. Terry was a native of the Taylor Community.  He was an Honor Graduate and President of the first graduating class of Baker County High School in 1956.   Following his marriage in 1959 he lived in Lake City, FL for 38 years.  He was employed by the Florida Department of Transportation for 30 years where he served as a Project Engineer during the construction years of  I-10 and I-75 and then as District Railroad Coordinator 16 years prior to his retirement.   He then served as Public Works Director for the City of Lake City, until 1996. Terry returned to his native Baker County in 1997.  Taylor Church in Taylor, FL was his place of worship. He enjoyed gardening and farming, sharing his harvests with neighbors and friends, and teaching his grandchildren to hunt and fish. He will be remembered for the Cane Grinding Party he and his family hosted for 36 years on the family farm at Glen St. Mary.    He served as Secretary/Treasurer of Taylor Cemetery, Inc. from 1995 until his death and was an active member of the Baker County Democratic Party. Funeral services will be at Taylor Church, Taylor, FL on Thursday, January 7 ^th at  11 A.M with burial in Taylor Cemetery.   Guerry Funeral Home of Macclenny will be in charge of arrangements.    Visitation will be on January 6 ^th between the hours of 6 and 8 P.
