Thelma “Sandy” Shoemaker age 83 passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. Mrs. Shoemaker was born in New York and moved to South Florida before relocating to Lake City in 1981. She was a proud member of Mercy Fellowship Baptist Church in Lake City, Florida. Sandy very active in the Senior Citizen Center of Lake City she was also an avid reader and an enthusiastic Florida State Football fan. Sandy enjoyed all types of arts and crafts and dearly loved her family.
Mrs. Shoemaker was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty two years John Shoemaker. She is survived by one daughter, Rene’ and son-in-law Michael Williams of Lake City; three brothers, Dennis, Al and Bruce three grandchildren and numerous children that considered her to be their Nana.
Services will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Mercy Fellowship Baptist Church located at 189 NW Cali Drive in Lake City. A gathering of family and friends will be at 6:00 pm just prior to Service. Jeff Wethington and Michael Williams will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to the Mercy Fellowship Youth Building Fund.
