Tom Oliver Rumsey

Mr. Tom Oliver Rumsey, age 86, of Glen St. Mary, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Rumsey has been a Baker County resident since 1984 when he moved here from South Florida. He served in the Navy and was proud to have served his country. Mr. Rumsey enjoyed photography, golf, gardening, and traveling to the mountains. He is preceded in death by his late wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann Steadge Rumsey, his parents, Harold and Thelma Rumsey, granddaughter, Brittany Lynn Hoatlin, brothers, Harold J. and Gene Rumsey and sister, Janice Dibble. Mr. Rumsey is survived by two sons, Kevin (Christine) Rumsey of Gainesville, FL and Thomas James Rumsey of Macclenny, FL: two daughters, Kimberly Hoatlin and Sherry Rumsey both of Macclenny, FL. Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. The family will hold a private memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Rumsey at a later date.
