Ms. Verna Belle Rewis Crews, age 86, of Macclenny, FL passed away Tuesday, February 9, following a short illness. Ms. Crews was a lifelong resident of Baker County, FL and she retired from the Baker County School System after 24 years of employment. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working in her yard and flowers. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Auzzie Leon Crews, her parents, Harry and Ella Rewis, brothers, Carl, Wash Daniels, Nathaniel and John Rewis, sisters, Ida Harvey, Barbara Burnsed, and Betty Pilcher. Ms. Crews is survived by, two daughters, Sharon (Richard) Crews and Terry (Rodger) Bushman: Grandchildren, Richard (Debbie) Crews, Debbie (Darrell) Finley, Samantha (Mike) Johns, Tabitha (Windell) Dugger, Kendall (Chris) Staver, Kameron (Carlos) Burgos, Kali (Robert) Davis, and Kyle (Hillary) Lloyd: Two sister in laws, Beulah Mae Rewis and Vadie Crews. Twenty-six great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren along with lifelong friend Mildred Prevatt also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Crews will be held on Friday, February 12 at 11 A.M., in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Elder David Crawford, assisted by Rev. Fred Raulerson, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Macclenny, FL. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, February 11, at the funeral home.
