Virgil Conner

Mr. Virgil Conner, age 96, of Sanderson, FL passed away suddenly, Friday, October 22 in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, FL. Mr. Conner was born in Baker County, FL and remained a resident his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, plowing the family farm and spending time in his rocking chair on his front porch. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawton and Essie Conner, and his wife, Lucille Conner. Mr. Conner is survived by two sons, Lawton Conner (Charlene) and Raymond Conner (Tammy) both of Glen St. Mary, FL: seven daughters, Betty Faye Dyal (Thomas) of Sanderson, FL, Essie Thrift (Jimmy ) of Macclenny, FL, Janet Easterday (Charlie) of Sanderson, FL, Susie Franks (George) of Glen St. Mary, FL, Christean Raley (Tom) of Glen St. Mary, FL, Brenda Canaday (Ronnie) of St. George, GA, and Angie Williams (Eddie) of Glen St. Mary, FL: one brother, Floyd Conner of Glen St. Mary, FL: two sisters, Patsy Groves (Johnny) and Gladys Hair (Don) both of Sanderson, FL. Nineteen grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Conner will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, October 26 in the Taylor Church with Rev. James Conner officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (one hour before the service). Interment will immediately follow the funeral service in Taylor Cemetery.
