Wallace William Moon

Indiantown

Mr. Wallace William Moon, age 90 of Indiantown, Florida passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Mr. Moon grew up in a coal mining family in Alabama before moving to South Florida where he enlisted in the US Army and served during the Korean War. Upon discharge from the Army, he returned to his South Florida home and worked in the sugar cane industry. Eventually he would become a truck driver for Gulf Oil for many years until the time of his retirement. In his free time, Mr. Moon enjoyed playing bingo, going fishing and was an avid reader. He is survived by his daughters: Joy (Todd) French of Tallahassee and Melissa (Joseph Sanford) Moon of Lake City; grandchildren: Holley French and Rylee French of Tallahassee and Joseph Sandford Jr. of Lake City;  brother: Moye Moon of Alabama; sister: Janie Hamblen of Grand Junction, Colorado and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. Mr. Moon will be laid to rest at the Tallahassee National Cemetery at a later date. Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 SW Main Blvd., Lake City is in charge of arrangements.
