Warren Cleveland Jones

December 28, 1920 — May 13, 2014

Mr. Warren  Cleveland  Jones, age 93, of Lake City, Florida  passed away peacefully on  May 13, 2014 at the Serenity  Place in the V.A. Medical Center, Lake City, Florida . He had resided in Lake City all of his life and was the son of the late Bishop Cleveland and  Alma Combs Jones.  He worked as a truck driver  with Central Truck Lines, Lake City, Fla. for over 35 years until his retirement.  He was of the Baptist faith, an Army veteran of W.W. II,  and  a  active member of the Moose Club and the American Legion for many years.  He was preceded in death by his late wife, Nancy Grace Jones,  two sons,  Warren Lamar Jones and  Larry Colin Jones and one brother,  James Jones.  He is survived by his son,  Timothy R. (Becky) Jones of Lake City, Fla.:  Two granddaughters,  Tammy (Bobby) Birdsall and Kimberly (Victor)  Mendell both of Lake City, Fla.:  Five great-grandsons,  Timothy  A. (Sara) Jones of Tallahassee, Fla.,  Shayne (Jamie) Foote, Charles (Judy) Mendell, Danny Foote, Erik (Danielle) Mendell all of Lake City, Fla.:  and his special little girl, great-great-granddaughter,  Sierrah Mendell  and  a host of friends and extended family.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, May  16, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Hamilton, Pastor of the  Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Columbia County, Fla.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, May 15, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Fla. www.guerryfuneralhome.net
