Mr. Wayne Edward Williams, age 76, of Lake City, Florida passed away Monday, Jan. 27, in the HCA Florida Lake City Hospital, Lake City, Florida. Mr. Williams was born in Boston, Massachusetts and served his county in the U.S. Navy for 23 years, including service in Vietnam, before moving to Lake City, Florida 30 years ago. After his retirement from the Navy, he went to work as a supply technician with the V.A. Medical Center, Lake City, Florida and retired after 10 years of service. He loved studying history, watching Fox News and all sports, especially the LSU Tigers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth N. and Agnes Calvert Williams, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Williams of Lake City, Florida; four children, Daniel (Samantha) Prince of Fort White, Fla., Christina Prince, Alecia (Logan) Wood and Jacob Prince all of Lake City, Florida; one brother, Kenneth N. (Mary Lee) Williams, Jr. of Lake City, Florida; Nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. A funeral service with military honors to honor the life of Mr. Williams will be held 2 P.M. Friday, Jan. 31, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida with Rev. Hugh Sherrill officiating. Final disposition will be by cremation.
