Wayne Wilkerson

Mr. Wayne L.E. Wilkerson, age 69, of Macclenny, Florida died Sunday, Aug. 1, in the Macclenny Nursing & Rehab Center, Macclenny, Florida following a long illness. Mr. Wilkerson had resided in Macclenny, Florida all of his life. He worked as a carpenter and truck driver most of his life. He was a graduate of Baker County High School Class of 1971. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.E. and Lavon Mikell Wilkerson, a sister, Hollie Ivey and two brothers, Windell and Billy Wilkerson. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Laura Wilkerson of Macclenny, Florida: his daughter, Rachel (Brian) Kemp of Jacksonville, Florida: his son, Aaron (Jessica) Starling of Macclenny, Florida:  one sister, Susan (Cody Mathis) Smart of Macclenny, Florida: six grandchildren, Tabitha Kemp, Trace Kemp, Aaron Starling, Jr., Luke Starling, Weston Starling and Jessa-mae Starling. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Wilkerson will be held at 5 P.M. Friday, Aug. 6, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Elder David Crawford of the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church officiating. Final disposition will be by cremation. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 4 to 5 P.M. Friday (One hour before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida.
