Mr. Wildon M. Cook, age 93 of Macclenny, FL passed away on February 11th, 2024. He was the son of Abbie Stephens Cook and William Fountain Cook. He had one sister, Wilma Morris, and one brother, Willard Cook. Wildon served in the United States Army at Fort Sill, OK and later attended the University of FL at Gainesville. He was employed as an aircraft engine mechanic and instructor at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville. He also studied and received certificates in refrigeration and air conditioning in Jacksonville, FL, starting the first packaged ice company in Baker county. Moving to Tennessee in 1969 he worked as a sales engineer in both Knoxville and Nashville, and then became co-owner of Cook-Davis, a wholesale heating and air conditioning company based in Nashville, TN.
Upon returning to Macclenny, FL he was in the real estate business. Wildon is survived by his wife of 69 years, Arline Ruis Cook of Macclenny, FL., three children, Lori Warner (Major Warner) of Woodstock, GA, Clay Cook (Cindy Cook) of Murfreesboro, TN, Jan Cook (Andy Norris) of Franklin, TN, and four grandchildren, Daniel Warner, Ashley Cook, WillWarner, and Tyler Cook.
Wildon was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery. Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 E., Macclenny, FL was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
