Willene Pitts, a lifelong Columbia County resident, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born in Lake City to the late John A. and Inell Fulford Pitts and was a member of Huntsville Baptist Church. Ms. Pitts was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and was known to be a good cook. She loved dancing and music, especially the songs of Patsy Cline and Elvis Presley. She enjoyed spending time gardening and had a special admiration for yellow roses and butterflies. She will be missed by her children: Robert Darrell Glover of Lake City, Lisa Lynn McDaniel of White Springs, and Shannon Michelle (Virgil) Langford of Lake City; grandchildren: Levi McDaniel, Macy McDaniel, Clif Glover, Kendall (Steven) Campbell, Justin (Kamry) Williams, Hunter Williams, Gage Williams, and Briley Brown; seven great grandchildren; brother: Raymond (Barbara) Pitts of White Springs; and sisters: Annette Pitts, Lajauan Adkins, and Laverne Pitts all of Lake City, Bonnie (Bobby) Johnson of Hendersonville, TN, Laujoy (Jimmy) Walker of Fort White, and Janice (Bob) Sherman of Lake City. Ms. Pitts was preceded in death by her granddaughter: Ashley Fowler, brothers: Tommy Pitts and J.E. Pitts, and sister: Audrey Pitts. A graveside celebration of life will be held at Memorial Cemetery, Lake City on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 11:00am with Brother Dale Brannon officiating.
