Mr. William Clayton “W.C.” Adams, Sr., age 78, of Lake City, Florida died Friday, May 22, in the V.A. Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida following a long illness. He was born in Watertown, Florida and lived in Lake City all of his life. He worked as a fireman with the city of Lake City for over 15 years and for Severance Truck Lines for over 25 years. He was a member of the Athens Baptist Church and a former member of the Florida National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Minnie R. Horne Adams. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia A. “Patti” Reeves of Lake City, Florida: His son, William Clayton Adams, Jr. of Tallahassee, Florida: One sister, Johnnie Mae Dees of Jacksonville, Florida: Four grandchildren also survive. A remembrance service to honor the life of Mr. Adams will be held at 3 P.M. Thursday in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Moore of Jacksonville, Florida officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Columbia County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 2 to 3 P.M. Thursday (One hour before services) at the funeral home.
