Mr. William John “Billy” Crockett, Sr., age 86, of Macclenny, Fla. died Sunday, Jan. 26, in the Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, Fla. following a long illness. He had resided in Macclenny, Fla. all of his life and owned the Edwray Theater in Macclenny for many years and other rental properties and also owned Crockett’s Trucking Company of Macclenny for over 50 years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Soul’s Harbor Church of God, Glen St. Mary, Fla. and loving fishing, riding horses , car racing and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Edward Wray and Beatrice Granger Crockett, Sr. and his late wife, Frances E. Crockett and a brother, Edward Wray Crockett, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Beatrice “Vickie” Crockett of Macclenny, Fla.: Two sons, William John “Billy” Crockett, Jr. and Boynton Lee Crocket both of Macclenny, Fla.: Five grandchildren, Timmy Hines, Carmie McInarnay, William John Crockett, III, Marci Crawford and Charles Highsmith: 10 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, Jan 30, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Mr. Sam Adbo of Panama City, Fla. speaking. Entombment will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Baker County, Fla. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Fla.
